Over 33 quintals of ganja seized in Gajapati | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: Police have seized more than 33 quintals of ganja valued over Rs 3.30 crore from Juba village under Mohana police station limits in Gajapati district on Saturday.
The seizure is part of an ongoing raid in the village by the police after at least 26 police personnel were injured when nearly 300 inhabitants from Juba and Pidika villages in Gajapati attacked them while they were returning after seizing around 30 quintals of ganja on Friday. The villagers took away over 10 quintals of the seized ganja on Friday. Five police vehicles were also damaged in the attack.
Five persons were arrested on Saturday for assaulting the police personnel.
Gajapati SP Jatindra Kumar Panda said the raids would continue to crackdown the illegal storage and transportation of ganja.
