Oram recommends disciplinary action against his pvt secy

Rourkela: Union minister Jual Oram has recommended disciplinary action against IAS officer Parag Harshad Gavali, posted as his private secretary, for “unauthorised absence from duty.”
In a letter written to chief secretary Manoj Ahuja on Wednesday, Jual informed that he has recommended the department of personnel and training (DoPT) to take disciplinary action against Gavali and asked the chief secretary to update the same in the officer’s service record.
“Dr Parag Gavali has been absent from duty without authorisation since Jan 23, 2025. His continued unauthorized absence is in violation of the service rules and has caused disruptions in the functioning of office,” Jual wrote.
“In the light of the above, I have requested secretary DoPT to initiate appropriate disciplinary action against Dr Parag Harshad Gavali as per relevant provisions of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules,” the Union minister wrote. Gavali, who was Sundargarh collector from June 16, 2022 to July 9, 2024, did not respond to phone calls. TNN
