Buxar: One Shobhnath Baitha (50) and eight others were injured when an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Tiyara village on Buxar-Kochas Road under Rajpur police station area on Wednesday. The driver of the truck fled after the accident.According to Rajpur SHO Gyanprakash, the commuters were returning to Tiyara village from Buxar in an autorickshaw when the accident occurred near a petrol pump. The truck, coming from the Kochas side, rammed into the vehicle.Local residents, along with former Rajpur mukhiya Satyendra Narayan Singh, responded swiftly and rescued those trapped inside the tempo. The injured were taken to Rajpur primary health centre and later referred to the Sadar Hospital, Buxar, due to the severity of their injuries.Shobhnath, son of Mehilal Baitha, was a resident of Dayadhra village under Dinara police station area in Rohtas district. The injured people were Krishna Singh (50), Kumari Rita (30), Neetu Kumari (20), Abhishek Kumar (21), Neeraj Kumar (13), Jwala Kumar (23). Two other injured people could not be identified.Rajpur block development officer Siddharth Kumar visited the spot to assess the situation.
