OJEE Toppers: Two OJEE Toppers Share Preparation Strategies; 56k Students Receive Ranks | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: The skill development and technical education department on Monday published the results of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) on Monday, with 56,000 students receiving rank cards. OJEE was conducted for admission into 23 technical and professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Suryakanta Prusty and Brahmananda Moharana topped the MBA and MCA courses, respectively, while Sagarika Dash received the first rank in BPharm.OJEE also published the toppers of 11 MTech courses.

Prepared at home, say two OJEE toppers; 56k get ranks

Sagarika, a resident of Cuttack, said she was simultaneously preparing for NEET-UG and OJEE and joined a coaching centre for preparation. “I have done very well in the medical entrance test too. If I get a good rank in NEET-UG, I will opt for medicine,” she added.
Suryakanta, a native of Baripada, who completed his bachelors degree in commerce, said he prepared for the OJEE at home by reading books and watching YouTube videos. “I am happy that I topped the exam. It will help me to get admission into a good educational institution for the MBA course. My family has a transport business. I will take forward our business,” he added.
Brahmananda Moharana of Niali in Cuttack district, said he wanted to pursue higher education in computer science. “I applied for the entrance test for MCA after completing my bachelors degree in computer science. As I topped the exam, it will be easy to get admission in a good university for MCA/MSc (computer science),” he added. Moharana, son of a carpenter, prepared for the OJEE by watching lectures and other educational videos on the internet.
This year, a total of 65,742 candidates registered for OJEE, while 56,047 (85.25%) appeared for the exam. Out of them, 56,000 candidates have been allotted ranks in their corresponding courses as per their performance in the examination, said an official statement by OJEE.
OJEE was a computer-based test (CBT) conducted between May 6 and 10 at 57 test centres in 30 districts of Odisha and three outside the state (Kolkata, Ranchi, and Patna).
“All the candidates, who have been awarded ranks, can take part in the OJEE counseling for admission into different technical/professional courses in govt and private colleges/institutes of Odisha corresponding to their rank and other qualifying criteria,” said D P Satapathy, OJEE chairman.
