Officials enquire into death of Class V student | Bhubaneswar News
Rourkela: The block education officer and cluster resource centre coordinator (CRCC) of Koida visited the school and hostel of Govt Upper Primary School and the community health centre on Saturday to enquire into the death of a Class V student on Thursday.
Ratha Naik, assistant superintendent of the hostel, said Tapan Naik (11), a student from Kamanda village, complained of chest pain around 6:30 am on Thursday and was rushed to the Koida CHC. He passed away around 9 am during treatment. Tapan’s body was later handed over to his parents.
Following the death, district education officer (Sundargarh), Amulya Kumar Pradhan, directed BEO Abhimanyu Behera to conduct an inquiry into Tapan’s death. on Saturday, Behera and Koida CRCC, Prasant Pardia, visited the school and hostel and met headmaster Dipak Kumar Patra and Naik. Thereafter, they also spoke to the parents of the deceased and doctors at the CHC.
“After completion of the inquiry, I will submit the report to the DEO,” said Behera.
