Odisha: Odisha emerging as a chemicals hub with strategic coastal location | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: Union minister of state for chemicals and fertilisers Anupriya Patel said here on Friday that the coastal states of Odisha, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh will play pivotal roles in the sector.
Addressing the ‘India Chem 2024: 13th Biennial International Exhibition and Conference’, she said, “Odisha, endowed with skilled manpower and a strategic coastal location, is poised to emerge as a prominent hub for chemicals and petrochemicals.”
State industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain underscored the transformative impact of the state’s industrial policies and incentives on the petrochemicals sector.
“We are persistently enhancing the infrastructure, port systems and extending subsidy in electricity tariff to the industries. We are also committed to nurturing skilled manpower to cater to industry demands,” the minister said. TNN
