Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasised on strengthening partnership between US and Odisha in different sectors like industries, education, renewable energy, tourism and culture, during a meeting with Jennifer Larson, US consul general in Hyderabad, here on Wednesday. Majhi spoke about Odisha’s advantages like trained manpower, availability of land, water and energy.He sought the cooperation of Larson in facilitating larger participation of US industries in the upcoming Utkarsh Utkal Conclave.TNN

Mukhyamantri – Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme launched at Sillod in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launched the Mukhyamantri -Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme aimed at empowering women financially, socially, politically, and educationally. The scheme provides monthly financial support to women, and various other benefits have been introduced to support over 2 crore women in Maharashtra. The initiative has received national acclaim, and substantial funds have been allocated for its implementation.

IMD warns of heavy rain likely in Odisha
The India Meteorological Department predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha on August 1 and 2, issuing a yellow warning for several districts. Cuttack city may face intense rain spells, causing possible water logging and traffic disruption. Highest rainfall was recorded in Baripada. Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner alerted potential submergence and inundation risk areas.
