Odisha govt approves Rs 3,883 crore industrial investment, set to create over 12,000 jobs | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha govt approved 17 major industrial projects worth Rs 3,883.72 crore, marking a significant boost to the state’s industrial landscape ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Conclave. The projects are expected to generate more than 12,280 jobs across eight districts, a govt statement said.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired the 134th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting where the investments were cleared. The projects span 15 high-impact sectors, including steel, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and green hydrogen.
Among the major investments approved are B R Steel and Power Pvt Ltd’s Rs871 crore steel facility in Sambalpur, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited‘s Rs 852.12 crore wind power project in Rayagada, and two pharmaceutical manufacturing units by Hetero Drugs Limited and Honour Lab Limited in Ganjam, worth Rs300 crore each.
The approved projects will be distributed across eight districts: Sambalpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, Jajpur, Angul, Khurda, Dhenkanal, and Jharsuguda.
The investment package includes several green initiatives, including a 4.5 KTPA green hydrogen facility with an investment of Rs200 crore by JSP Green Wind 5 Private Limited and a compressed bio-gas plant (Rs 73 crore) by Bioluxe Energy and Power Private Limited.
