Odisha Government Approves 15 Major Projects with Investment of Rs 3,353 Crore | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: State govt on Friday approved 15 major projects in different sectors with a total investment of Rs 3,353.15 crore. The projects are expected to create jobs for over 4,500 people.
Approval for the proposed projects in Koraput, Khurda, Bargarh, Puri, Cuttack and Jharsuguda districts was given during the 132nd State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja. “These projects will play a vital role in the socio-economic development of Odisha,” read a statement from the industry department.
The projects cover sectors such as chemical and renewable energy, steel downstream, aluminium downstream, food processing, manufacturing, textile and apparel, tourism, pharmaceuticals and cement.
In the chemical and renewable energy sector, Reliance Bio Energy Limited will establish a compressed bio-gas and fermented organic manure plant in Puri at a cost of Rs 121.21 crore, creating 69 jobs.
Beekay Steel Industries Limited will expand its existing unit in Cuttack, at an investment of Rs 750 crore. The project is expected to create 800 jobs.
HM Power and Cables Pvt Ltd will establish an aluminium conductor, power cable and wire manufacturing plant in Jharsuguda at an investment of Rs 55.72 crore, which will create employment for 205 people.
Nexthermal Asia Private Limited will set up a heating elements manufacturing unit in Khurda at an investment of Rs 55.81 crore, generating 132 jobs.
In the food processing sector, Bhuvaneshwari Foods and Beverages Private Limited, Aban Beverages Private Limited, Geofast Consumer Products Pvt Limited and Avira Distillery Pvt Ltd will set up their plants in Khurda, Bargarh and Cuttack with a total investment of nearly Rs 1,542.04 crore. The projects will create 1,358 jobs.
Odisha Textile Manufacturing Private Limited will establish a facility in Khurda to manufacture recycled yarns from textile waste. The project, to cost Rs 51.80 crore, is expected to create 535 jobs.
ITC Limited will expand its five-star hotel in Bhubaneswar at an investment of Rs 119.14 crore, providing an additional 240 jobs. SJ JRG Ventures LLP and Crackers India Infrastructures Ltd will also bring new hospitality facilities to Puri and Koraput.
Infunex Healthcare Pvt Ltd will establish its second unit for manufacturing intravenous fluids in Cuttack, at an investment of Rs 59.43 crore, creating 182 jobs.
UltraTech Cement Ltd will increase its cement grinding unit capacity from 3 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) to 6 MTPA in Cuttack. The Rs 372-crore expansion project is expected to create 581 jobs.
