Odisha Assembly Approves Rs 12,155.70 Crore Supplementary Budget for 2024-25 | Bhubaneswar News



Bhubaneswar: The assembly on Thursday passed the supplementary budget of Rs 12,155.70 crore for the financial year 2024-25, augmenting the annual outlay of Rs 2.65 lakh crore announced in July.
Replying to the budget discussion on behalf of chief minister Mohan Majhi, law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said the budget will be spent on the welfare of people and development works. Majhi, who holds the finance portfolio, was not present on Thursday as he went to Mumbai to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra CM.
Harichandan said the supplementary budget includes Rs 10,155 crore for programme expenditure. Under programme expenditure, Rs 8,121 crore has been allocated for state sector schemes, Rs 2,011 crore for centrally sponsored schemes, and Rs 23 crore for central sector scheme.
