Odisha 1st in reporting info on health portal | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Odisha secured the first position in the country for reporting on the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme-Integrated Health Information Platform (IDSP-IHIP) portal for the period from Jan to Dec 2024.
IDSP-IHIP was rolled out in the state on April 5, 2021, for real-time data entry via 10,659 dedicated reporting units spread across 30 districts and five municipal corporations, said official sources in the health and family welfare department.
“The aim and objective of IDSP-IHIP is to conduct disease surveillance of outbreak-prone diseases of public health importance, laboratory surveillance at 32 district public health laboratories and at three state referral laboratories (SRL),” a source said.
Besides, the IDSP unit at the state and district levels has been converted to a command and control room during disasters such as floods, cyclones and heat-related illnesses. State rapid response team (RRT), 30 district and 377 block RRTs are kept in readiness 24×7 to meet any public health emergencies throughout the year, said a senior health official.TNN
