Cuttack: Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) will introduce a dedicated ‘Legendary Box‘ at the Barabati Stadium here during the ODI match between India and England on Feb 9, to honour sports personalities, Padma awardees, Khel Ratna recipients and notable national and international sports activists.
The box, located near the players’ dressing room, has been designed like an open lounge with a seating capacity of 60.
“The legendary box is a tribute to the icons who made remarkable contributions to sports. It will provide a premium and memorable experience for the distinguished guests attending the match,” said Sanjay Behera, OCA secretary.
“This is not just a seating arrangement but a gesture of respect and acknowledgement towards those who dedicated their lives to promoting sports and inspiring the nation,” added Behera.
As per OCA, the box will be ready well before the match. Delegates will be felicitated with special mementos and custom-designed blazers as a token of appreciation for their achievements and contributions to the field of sports.
The India-England ODI is expected to draw a huge crowd, sources said.
