NTT DATA & Neysa to invest Rs 10.5k cr to set up AI data centre in city

Hyderabad: In a fresh boost to city’s information technology infrastructure, the state govt delegation in Tokyo on Friday secured an investment of Rs 10,500 crore to establish an AI data centre cluster.
A tripartite MoU was signed by the govt with NTT DATA, a global IT services firm, and Neysa Networks, an AI-first cloud platform company, in Tokyo on the second day of CM A Revanth Reddy-led delegation’s visit to Japan.
The delegation is on a seven-day visit to Japan to promote Telangana as an investment destination. Earlier, on Thursday, the govt had secured an investment of Rs 1,000 crore from Marubeni Coporation to set up an industrial park in ‘Future City’.
The deal signed on Friday envisages setting up a 400 MW data centre cluster designed to host the country’s most powerful AI supercomputing infrastructure with 25,000 GPUs, enabling joint development of AI-first solutions. The project will be powered through a mix of grid and renewable energy (up to 500 MW) and is aimed at fostering AI talent through partnerships with Telangana’s academic institutions.
Revanth Reddy said: “The announcement by NTT follows recent big-ticket data centre projects by AWS, STT, Tillman Holdings and CtrlS, reiterating Hyderabad’s dominant position as India’s leading data centre hub. Telangana offers policy stability, reliable power, skilled talent and the fastest clearances through our single-window system. We welcome NTT DATA as it begins a long-term partnership to power the next generation of AI and digital services from Hyderabad.”
Addressing the company officials, the CM said: “On behalf of people of Telangana, ‘arigatō gozaimasu’ or in our language Telugu, ‘dhanyavadalu’.”
Headquartered in Tokyo, NTT DATA is ranked among the world’s top three data centre providers and operates over 150 facilities, employing nearly 2 lakh people across over 50 countries. Neysa, an AI-first cloud platform company, focusses on GenAI adoption.
Earlier, the CM addressed Japanese investors at the India-Japan Economic Partnership meeting in Tokyo, promoting Telangana as China +1 alternative. The investors were briefed about Telangana’s plans, including the govt’s two flagship projects – ‘Future City’ and Musi Riverfront Rejuvenation Project.
