Kalyan: Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has approved a Rs 357-crore project to supply water to 27 villages in Kalyan-Dombivli under the Amrut Abhiyan scheme. A reservoir of 105MLD capacity will also be created.
The 27 villages were brought under Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation’s jurisdiction in 2017. Shinde and his son, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde, had promised voters ahead of the assembly election last year that the water supply plan would be approved soon.
Under the Amrut Abhiyan scheme, water supply, rainwater drainage, urban transport and green area development are being undertaken in the state.
