No report yet on alleged civic violations at Kamra venue | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: Nearly three weeks after the BMC conducted an inspection of Hotel Unicontinental in Khar—where a stand-up comedy show by Kunal Kamra stirred controversy—no formal report on the matter has been brought out. The BMC’s preliminary inspection had claimed that the basement, where the show was held, was being used illegally. However, no notice has been issued so far nor has any action been initiated. The episode had triggered a political uproar, leading to the inspection.
When contacted, civic officials have not clarified the reasons for the delay in follow-up steps or whether a report will be made public. “After the inspection, some documents were sought from the hotel owner as well,” said a ward level official. Sources said the civic administration was going slow on the matter. When contacted, assistant municipal commissioner (H West) Dinesh Pallewad said the ward had sought documents from the hotel, but they have not been received yet. TNN
