MUMBAI: AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said in Kurla on Friday that no one could guarantee if Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray would not go back to BJP after the election.
He attacked the Centre’s attempt to bring in uniform civil code (UCC) and said a ‘uniform development code’, instead, is needed.
Slamming PM Narendra Modi for his slogan ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas’, Owaisi said many moves in the last 10 years like ‘love jihad’, beef ban, demands for ban on hijab showed that it was a hollow slogan.
He also slammed Union home minister Amit Shah for his reported comment that “farmers’ land was given to the waqf board”. “Nobody can take anybody else’s land if he or she has documents of ownership,” said Owaisi. –
