No arrest in recovery of firearms and bullets | Bhubaneswar News

Kendrapada: Police are yet to make any arrest in the case of seizure of revolvers and bullets from the house of a fugitive criminal in Kendrapada district four days ago.IIC of Kendrapada police station, Dilip Sahoo, said, “Acting on a tip-off, we raided a house at Dilarpur village on Wednesday night and seized three automatic 9 mm revolvers and 70 rounds of live bullets. Owner of the house, Sk Osim(32), a notorious criminal, was not present in the house. He is on the run. He was booked two years ago in an attempted murder case. We have formed a special team to arrest him. We have not arrested or detained anyone in this case.”He added, “A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act, 1959. We suspect Osim along with other miscreants were supplying firearms to criminals after procuring them from other places.We are also trying to trace the supply chain of these weapons.” Last Sunday, Gautam Mallick (26) of Bharigola suffered serious gunshot injuries on his legs when three unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals fired at him in Balisahi village. Police have not arrested anyone in the case.
