Nitish launches 76 development projects worth Rs451 crore in Muz | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday launched 76 development projects worth Rs 451 crore in Muzaffarpur district during the second phase of his Pragati Yatra. He also announced the construction of a ring road in the eastern part of Muzaffarpur, two road overbridges (RoBs) near Gobasahi and Ramdayalu Nagar rail crossings as well as the construction and widening of many roads to alleviate traffic congestion in the divisional headquarters.
The CM first reviewed the map of the proposed high-level bridge over the Bagmati river and the Garha (NH-57)-Hathauri-Atarar-Bawangama-Aurai road project in Muzaffarpur district. The total length of this road, including the 3.35km high-level bridge, is 21km with a total cost of Rs 814 crore. He also inspected the site for the four-lane widening of the Muzaffarpur-Barauni section of NH-122 (old NH-28).
Nitish further inspected the site for the proposed ring road construction in the eastern part of Dighra Rampur village. The proposed Muzaffarpur eastern ring road connects Madhoul (new NH-22) to Dighra Patti (new NH-122) and Bakhri (new NH-27), with a stretch of 4.45km from Madhoul to Dighra and 12.55km from Dighra to Bakhri. Once completed, this ring road will allow vehicles coming from Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Motihari and other places to easily travel towards Patna, Samastipur and Barauni without entering the Muzaffarpur urban area, helping to reduce congestion and traffic density.
During the inspection of the proposed ring road, additional chief secretary of the road construction department, Mihir Kumar Singh, provided detailed information to the CM about the proposed and under-construction roads and bridges in Muzaffarpur. The CM asked the officials concerned to commence the construction of the proposed roads and bridges as soon as possible. He asked them to expedite the work on the under-construction roads and bridges to complete them at the earliest.
“Once these roads and bridges are completed, people will find it much easier to commute, saving time and alleviating traffic congestion in and around Muzaffarpur,” Nitish said. The CM also inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan’ by cutting a ribbon at Binda village in Narouli gram panchayat under Musahari block of Muzaffarpur district.
