Nitish Kumar Urges Completion of First Phase of 4-Lane Road Project by December | Patna News – Times of India



Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday asked the officials and engineers of the road construction department (RCD) to expedite the ongoing construction of the 11km four-lane road connecting Mithapur to Punpun via Sipara and Mahuli, which includes a 7.5km four-lane elevated road.
The construction of the four-lane road is being carried out in two phases. The CM directed the RCD officials to finish the first phase, which covers a length of 6.7km and includes a 5.4km four-lane elevated road, by the end of December this year.
The 11km four-lane Mithapur, Sipara, Mahuli, and Punpun road is of great importance as it aims to further reduce traffic congestion in Patna.It connects to the Patna, Gaya, Dobhi national highway (NH)-83 at Punpun, providing access to the Buddhist tourist destinations of Bodh Gaya and Rajgir. Additionally, as per the CM’s directive, connectivity between Punpun and Sampatchak is also being established.
The first phase of the project involves the construction of a 6.7km four-lane road passing through Sipara, Parsa, and Mahuli, which will also be connected to the new NH-31 bypass road near Sipara. This 6.7km road includes a 5.4km four-lane elevated road.
The second phase of the project focuses on the construction of the Mithapur-Sipara and Mahuli-Punpun sections, totaling 4.3km, which includes a 2.1km elevated road between Mithapur and Sipara. The Mithapur-Mahuli road is being connected to Sampatchak.
During the inspection, the CM was accompanied by senior minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha, CM’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar, RCD additional chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, CM’s secretary Anupam Kumar and others.
