NITI Aayog to help state prepare vision docus for 2036, 2047

Bhubaneswar: The NITI Aayog will support Odisha in preparing a two vision documents to realize its goal of a Viksit Odisha by 2036 and further roadmap for 2047, a govt statement said after NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam met CM Mohan Charan Majhi here.
During their discussion, Majhi said Odisha has huge untapped potential in different sectors, which needs to be realized to achieve the goal of a developed state by its centenary year.
Odisha desires to contribute significantly to the growth of India and become a growth engine of India by 2047. Subrahmanyam said the NITI Aayog will support the state for preparation of two vision documents, one for 2036 and another for 2047.
A steering committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary will be formed for preparation of roadmap for the vision in three months. Odisha targets to become a $500 billion (from the current US $ 110 billion) economy by 2036 when the state will be 100 years since its formation. “We also desire to reach 1.5 trillion dollar economy by 2047, “he added.

The India Meteorological Department predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha on August 1 and 2, issuing a yellow warning for several districts. Cuttack city may experience spells of intense rain, causing potential water logging and traffic disruptions. Baripada recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, with Mayurbhanj and Bolangir among other affected districts.
