Kendrapada: Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) at Duburi in Jajpur district is expanding its capacity from 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 9.5 MTPA.
The expansion plan includes implementing many state-of-the-art technologies to make the production process more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
According to sources, this expansion plan is expected to set a new benchmark for sustainable water usage in the steel industry.”The company is implementing advanced water conservation technologies to improve water efficiency significantly,” said an official of NINL.
The NINL plant’s current water consumption is 2.71 cubic metres (m³) per ton of crude steel (TCS).
