NIA team meets Cuttack family who survived attack

Cuttack: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on Tuesday visited Cuttack to record statements of a local family who survived the terror attack in Pahalgam.
The Bhola family from Deula Sahi area, who returned to Cuttack on April 26, were present at the site when terrorists struck near Baisaran valley on April 22.
During a two-hour session that began at 11 am, the NIA team questioned Ranjit Bhola, his wife, son and daughter-in-law about their observations during their stay in Pahalgam. The family had been visiting the tourist spot when the terrorists struck but managed to escape unharmed.
“We cooperated with the NIA team, but have been advised not to share information due to security reasons as the investigation is ongoing,” said a family member who requested anonymity. The Bholas shared their first-hand experience of the attack, sources said.
The central agency is working to establish a timeline of the attack and gather intelligence about the perpetrators’ movements. The investigation spans multiple states, as authorities suspect terror outfits are targeting civilian areas to disrupt peace and tourism in the region.
