NHRC seeks report on diseases

Bhubaneswar: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked for action taken reports from the Centre regarding measures to control oral cancer and communicable diseases in the country. The rights commission issued the order on Aug 13 after hearing a petition filed by human rights activist and lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy, who is a native of Odisha.Tripathy requested the commission to issue orders to the ministries concerned of the central govt to take measures to control the diseases by issuing necessary guidelines and corrective actions to protect the health and lives of citizens.TNN
