Patna: Of 47,412 candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-Undergraduate 2024 in Patna, approximately 7% secured more than 600 marks out of 720, according to results published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday.
Following a Supreme Court order due to ongoing petitions regarding alleged irregularities, including a paper leak in Bihar, the NTA released marks in a state, city, and centre-wise format without naming individual candidates. The results were initially declared on June 4.
Among the top scorers, one candidate from Madhubani’s Pole Star School at Jeewachh Chowk achieved a perfect score of 720. Another student from Dony Polo Public School in Patna scored 710 out of 720.
At a school in Punaichak, where 703 candidates took the exam, Patna police arrested Ayush Raj, who admitted to receiving the NEET question paper a day before the exam. Of the candidates from this centre, 17 scored above 600 marks. Ayush secured 300 out of 720, with a total percentile of 73, including 87 in biology and 15 in physics and chemistry. Anurag Yadav, another accused, scored 185 out of 720 with a percentile score of 54.84, achieving 85.8 in physics, 51 in biology, and only 5 in chemistry due to time constraints.
The exam, held on May 5, took place across 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad, for over 24 lakh candidates. In Bihar, over 1.2 lakh candidates appeared at 262 centres.
