Navi Mumbai trio abduct man, demand 1.5L ransom

Kalyan: Three people from Navi Mumbai abducted Rajkumar Pandey (35), a resident of Dombivli, and imprisoned him in a house. They forcibly extorted Rs 1.5 lakh from his wife.
The police said complainant Pandey used to employ people on a contract basis on ships, in return for which he took money from them.
However, according to police sources, the complainant took money from three people but was unable to employ them. As a result, the three kidnapped the complainant, locked him in a room, threatened to kill him, and demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from his wife. The three individuals who are booked are identified as Ankit Shukla, Sachin Mishra, and Vinod Shukla.
According to the police, the three accused called Rajkumar to meet them in Kharghar on Monday. When Rajkumar reached there, the three abducted him from Navi Mumbai to Virar, where they kept him locked in a room. They beat him up and forced Rajkumar to call his wife, asking her to arrange for the money.
On Tuesday, Rajkumar’s wife somehow arranged the money and sent Rs 1 lakh to the accused. Despite this, the accused started demanding the remaining Rs 50,000. Rajkumar’s wife threatened them, saying she did not have the money and would complain to the police. This scared the three, and they later left the complainant near Kamat station in Bhiwandi. Rajkumar then went to the police station and registered a case against the accused.
