Mysore Sales International Limited to launch e-comm platform

Bengaluru: Karnataka’s state-run enterprise, Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL), is set to roll out its own e-commerce platform to facilitate sale of govt and private sector products. The initiative, modelled after the central govt’s e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, aims to streamline procurement and boost digital commerce in the state.
Industries minister MB Patil called the move a “progressive step” and directed authorities to chart a roadmap.
The e-commerce platform will be introduced in four phases. Initially, it will feature only MSIL’s own products. In the second phase, state-run enterprises such as Mysore Sandal Soap, Lidkar, Mysore Silk, Cauvery Emporium and Nandini will be onboarded, along with MSMEs and women’s self-help groups.
In the third phase, consumer and electronic products will be introduced, followed by the final phase, which will cater to fresh and perishable goods.
Nod for 69 industrial projects
Sixty-nine industrial projects with a total investment of Rs 3,500 crore were approved during the 152nd meeting of the State-Level Monitoring Committee, chaired by Patil. These projects are expected to generate employment opportunities for 24,954 people across the state.

She also directed that the Border Area Development Authority chairman be given a special invitation for these meetings.
