Gaya: An accused in a murder case and a policeman were injured in an incident of firing on the campus of Sherghati court here on Wednesday afternoon.
The criminals opened fire targeting accused Fotu Khan who was brought to the court for a hearing in the murder case of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party member Anwar Ali Khan (50), killed in Amas police station area last September.
Senior superintendent of police Ashish Bharti said they caught two persons, including a juvenile, from the court premises itself and were interrogating them. “A special investigation team, headed by city superintendent of police Prerana Kumar, was constituted to arrest the others involved in the firing incident. Police recovered two pistols, nine cartridges and three empty cartridges from the spot,” he said, adding both the injured were sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
Their condition is said to be out of danger. Fotu sustained two bullet injuries to his shoulder and hand, while the policeman was hit in the hand, said police.
