Berhampur: A murder accused from Berhampur, who was on the run for over 12 years, was arrested in Bhubaneswar on Friday.Madhab Panigrahy of Gosaninuagaon was allegedly involved in the murder of Shanti Mishra, along with 12 others , on Jan 29, 2013.“While his 12 co-accused were arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment by the court, Panigrahy remained at large since the murder occurred,” said SP (Berhampur), Saravana Vivek M.“Acting on a tip-off, a police team rushed to Bhubaneswar and arrested him. With his arrest, all the accused have been apprehended in the murder case,” he said.After committing the murder, Madhab escaped to Gujarat. After a few years, he returned to Bhubaneswar and started working in a shop. Later, he set up a shop in the capital city. Recently, he started working as a car owner and driver for two ride-hailing apps, police said.Police said he never returned to Berhampur, his hometown, even after the death of his mother, fearing arrest. “A special police team was tracking his movement for the last two months,” said the SP.
