Mumbai: Former finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, who missed the cabinet berth in the Mahayuti government, has been appointed chairman by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis of a 10-member, all-party committee for revival of the loss-making Maharashtra State Lottery
As insignificant as the assignment may be, the orders for the appointment were issued by the finance department led by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.
The committee, which will study the profit-making Kerala state lottery, will include Amit Satam (BJP), Chandrakant Narke, Vithal Langhe, (Shiv Sena), Chetan Tupe, Shekhar Nikam (NCP), Rohit Patil (NCP-SP), Sunil Prabhu (UBT Shiv Sena) and Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh (INC). Deshbhratar will be the secretary of the committee. — Prafulla Marpakwar
