MUMBAI: The Wadala Katrak road in Mumbai was closed for heavy traffic in both directions due to the massive influx of devotees gathering on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi on Wednesday morning, a BEST official said.
The closure of the road and the rerouting of bus routes were necessary measures taken to manage the large crowds and ensure the safety of the devotees participating in the religious event.
As per official further explained, “Our bus routes 172, 169, and 67 have been rerouted, the buses will veer left at Mancherji Joshi Road (via Five Gardens) towards Ruia signal and proceed to their destination at Dadar TT.”
