Mumbai reels under heat for 2nd day in row

Mumbai: The city continued to reel under sweltering heat on Tuesday, with maximum temperatures remaining well above normal for the second consecutive day.
India Meteorological Department‘s (IMD) Santacruz observatory recorded a high of 36.2°C, which was 2.8 degrees above the seasonal average. On Monday, the Santacruz observatory had recorded an even higher temperature of 36.8°C. IMD’s Colaba observatory, meanwhile, recorded a maximum of 34.2°C on Monday, followed by 34.1°C on Tuesday, which was 1.3 degrees above normal.
For Wednesday, the IMD forecast dry weather, with no immediate relief from the heat in sight. Kurla resident Kurla resident said: “It’s getting increasingly difficult to step out even for a short walk. The heat feels relentless, especially in the afternoon. We’ve started stepping out only early mornings or late evenings.” tnn
