Mumbai Records Second Wettest July with 1656 mm Rainfall | Mumbai News – Times of India
Mumbai: Rainfall recorded this season crossed the 2,000 mm mark, with 2,003 mm of rainfall recorded at IMD’s Santacruz observatory till 8.30 am Saturday. July alone recorded 1,656 mm while 347 mm was recorded last month.
The 1656 mm of rain recorded makes for the second wettest month that the city has ever seen, with the all-time record being 1776 mm of rainfall, which was recorded in July 2023.
Rainfall recorded on Saturday at Colaba was 5.4 mm, but Santacruz did not record any significant rain.
In its forecast, IMDissued a yellow alert for Sunday, (Jul 28), for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall. For Monday (Jul 29), a green alert has been issued, indicating moderate rain likely for Mumbai and Palghar, while a yellow alert has been issued for Thane.
