NEW DELHI: A team of Mumbai Police reached the residence of YouTuber and content creator Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation into his controversial remarks on the YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent.
Police sources confirmed that the visit was related to a complaint filed against Allahbadia and others involved in the show.

On Monday, a complaint was filed against Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the show’s organisers for allegedly making inappropriate and offensive remarks during the show.
Khar police had earlier inspected the recording location at Habitat building, Khar, but found it vacant as the shooting had concluded.
The controversy began when Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment with sexual overtones about parents to a contestant on India’s Got Latent. The remarks sparked widespread outrage on social media, with several users demanding accountability and accusing the creators of crossing ethical boundaries.
Khar Police confirmed receiving a written complaint and have launched a probe. No FIR has been registered so far. DCP (Zone IX) Dikshit Gedam stated that the investigation is underway.
Police officials also visited the show’s recording venue at Habitat Building in Khar, which was found vacant as the shoot had concluded.
Facing severe backlash, Allahbadia posted an apology video on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, admitting that his comment was not just inappropriate but also unfunny. “Comedy isn’t my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he said, adding, “There’s no justification for my lapse in judgment. I take full responsibility and want to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

He assured his followers that the offensive segment had been removed and reiterated his respect for family values, saying, “Family is the last thing I would disrespect.”
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, while commenting on the issue, said, “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon others’ rights. In our society, there are rules, and if someone violates them, action must be taken.”

Shiv Sena leader Raju Waghmare condemned the remarks, stating, “Such language is unacceptable in Maharashtra, the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. We won’t tolerate this misuse of free speech.”
Writer-storyteller Neelesh Misra shared the controversial clip on X, calling out the creators for promoting “banal and insensitive content” in the name of creativity. Several users echoed similar sentiments, with some calling for a social media boycott of Allahbadia and Raina. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also criticized the show, saying, “This isn’t creative. It’s perverse.”
Apart from the Mumbai complaint, a Supreme Court lawyer has filed a complaint with Delhi Cyber Police, seeking a ban on India’s Got Latent for allegedly promoting vulgar content.
The complaint, filed under Sections 294 and 286 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, accuses Allahbadia and others of using obscene language and making derogatory references to family relationships.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) is also looking into the matter. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued a statement condemning the content, calling it “deeply disrespectful to societal and family values” and a “threat to the moral fabric of society.”
Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his motivational podcasts and significant social media following — with 10.5 million subscribers on YouTube — had received the National Creators Award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. This incident has raised serious concerns about content responsibility and its impact on young viewers.
