MSMEs in Vasai highlight key challenges; Palghar MP assures full support | Mumbai News – The Times of India

VASAI: Factory owners and related service industries gathered in Vasai to share the critical issues they face in the Vasai Virar region and Palghar district.
This February 21 interaction, organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), was attended by Palghar MP Dr Hemant Vishnu Savara, Vasai MLA Rajan Naik, along with Rajeev Patil, the first Mayor of Vasai Virar, and senior officials from VVCMC, MSEB, and NHAI.
According to data provided by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Palghar district is home to over 28,000 registered Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with more than 18,000 of them located in the Vasai Virar region alone, said an office bearer of LUB.
Despite being the backbone of the economy, these SMEs continue to operate under challenging and disparate conditions. Although a few local associations have been working to resolve these issues, progress was minimal, leaving the situation in a dire state, he added.
All the senior officials of the department, having a role towards the MSME, were present, including the officials from the VVCMC, MSEB, and the NHAI, during which MSMEs presented their grievances.
These grievances were assured to be considered and tackled, which will help them grow and create employment opportunities, said Savara. LUB, a national organisation with a strong presence in Vasai Taluka and Palghar district, has decided to take proactive measures by raising these concerns with relevant authorities and newly elected MLAs and MPs.
