Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday reviewed working of steel and mines department. He emphasised efficient management of mines to increase production for mining-based industries. He said steps should be taken to increase mining revenue. To prevent illegal mining and theft of minerals, the chief minister advised strengthening enforcement measures.He suggested granting more leases in minor minerals sector, read a statement from the CMO. Police seize illegally mined sand, search for two
In Trichy district, police intercepted a mini truck carrying illegally mined sand near Kaduvetti’s milk society during a routine patrol. The truck’s owner and driver, S Rakeshwaran, along with his helper, S Prasanth, fled upon spotting the police. Authorities have booked them under sections of BNS and Mines and Minerals Act and are currently searching for them.
