Modi’s remarks proof BJP worried over Cong govt success in T: CM

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Tuesday said PM Narendra Modi’s ‘bulldozing forests’ taunt was proof that the BJP was worried over Congress govt’s success in conducting a caste survey, implementing SC sub-categorisation and passing Bills for 42% BC quota in Telangana.
During a rally in Haryana on Monday, the PM had referred to the row over 400 acres in Kancha Gachibowli abutting University of Hyderabad and said that Congress was ‘bulldozing forests’ and betraying people’s trust.
On Tuesday, Revanth, while addressing the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at a star hotel in Shamshabad, said until recently it was only BJP Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay who were making allegations based on AI-generated fake videos and pictures on Kancha Gachibowli land, but now PM Modi himself had entered the fray to target Congress in Telangana.
“SC sub-categorisation has become a stumbling block for Modi. Telangana is now the first state in the country to implement SC sub-categorisation after the Supreme Court verdict. Indiramma housing scheme and fine rice distribution is a testament to our transparent governance. Modi is troubled after the Congress govt launched a slew of big schemes,” he said.
He further said: “Big debates on Telangana’s development model are taking place in the country. It is the reason BJP and BRS have come together to target the Congress govt using fake AI-generated images.”
The CM, however, cautioned the MLAs that no amount of good work by the govt will help Congress win next assembly election if they failed to take the achievements to the people.
“If the Congress has to win again, MLAs and important leaders should be touring their assembly constituencies from today itself. All legislators must visit every village in their respective constituencies from April 16 to June 2 and explain to the people the good work done by the Congress govt for their welfare,” the CM said.
Revanth himself will start his district tour from May 1 which will continue till June 2.
“We (Congress govt) will have a good future only if the image of the party and govt is projected well. So, reach out to the people. Counter the opposition’s onslaught effectively. Also, ask BJP leaders why fine rice is not being given in BJP-governed states. Fine rice is Congress’ scheme and its brand. Prepare a report on what is required for development of each assembly constituency. The govt will take responsibility of completing those projects,” Revanth said.
He told the MLAs to inform people that Congress govt has provided permanent solutions to problems pending for decades, such as the caste census, SC sub-categorisation and 42% BC quota. He said the govt did not even issue job notifications until a law for SC sub-categorisation came into force.
Referring to ‘sanna biyyam’ (fine rice) distribution scheme, the CM said it will be remembered for a long time like the Rs 2 per kg rice scheme launched in the past. He emphasised that benefits of the newly launched Bhu Bharati Portal should reach farmers.
