MLAs: Ganjam district BJP MLAs Expected to Get More Ministerial Berths in New Government | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: Political observers are of the opinion that several newly elected BJP MLAs in Ganjam district may get cabinet berths since the district has elected the highest number of party candidates.
Out of the 13 assembly seats in the district, BJP won 11, while the other two went to BJD (Naveen Patnaik in Hinjili) and Congress (Ramesh Chandra Jena in Sanakhemundi).
Since the highest number of party candidates elected from Ganjam, considered as the strong bastion of the BJD till the last election, the new council of ministers is likely to see the greater representation from the district, political observers said.
Among the winners of the saffron party this time, eight are new faces, while others are former MLAs — Purna Chandra Sethy (Khallikote), Saroj Kumar Padhi (Aska) and Sidhant Mohapatra (Digapahandi) — and a former MP (Berhampur).
Out of these, at least five names are doing rounds to get the ministerial berth or to make it as the state assembly speaker. The aspirants, however, said all were depending on the will of the CM to be elected.
