Navi Mumbai: A 46-year-old man, who claimed to be associated with a Bhojpuri movies production house, was arrested by Vashi police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl. He had falsely promised to help her secure a role in Bhojpuri movies, police said.
Sanjay Dhumal, senior inspector, said that the arrested accused has been identified as Vinod Bisht, a resident of Sector-9, Vashi. Police said the girl had come to Navi Mumbai from Bihar along with her mother, aspiring to become an actress. The accused approached her mother in March, Dhumal said. —George Mendonca
