Minister appeals for new KV in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha minister Amar Prasad Satpathy on Sunday wrote to Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, requesting the establishment of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya near Chandikhol in Jajpur district to facilitate enhanced educational opportunities for students.
Noting that the existing Kendriya Vidyalayas in Jajpur district, situated at Jajpur and Jajpur Road respectively, are considerably distant, Satpathy emphasised that a central school near Chandikhol would substantially benefit the students.
“The distance of Badachana constituency from Jajpur is approximately 50 km. Keeping this in view, there is a necessity for opening a new Kendriya Vidyalaya or Navodaya Vidyalaya near Chandikhol,” Satpathy wrote.
Extending congratulations to the minister regarding the cabinet’s approval for establishing 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas, including 8 in Odisha and 28 Navodaya Vidyalayas nationwide, the former minister sought consideration for the school near Chandikhol.
“Under the facts and circumstances, I request your good self to consider sanctioning a new Kendriya Vidyalaya or Navodaya Vidyalaya at Chandikhol in Jajpur, Odisha, which is a long-standing necessity,” he said.
