Min unveils 5-year plan of city zoo | Patna News – Times of India



Patna: Minister of environment, forest and climate change department, Prem Kumar, on Saturday urged officials concerned to accelerate the ongoing efforts to enhance public amenities and improve conditions for wildlife at Patna zoo. He said the toy train, which has been inoperative for more than 10 years, would soon be operational again.
During his inspection of the zoo, the minister received updates on the wild animals and infrastructural projects from the zoo director, Satyajit Kumar.The minister was briefed on the upcoming projects for the zoo over the next five years, and the vision document (2024-29) prepared by the department was unveiled on Saturday.
This five-year plan includes the restart of the toy train, along with beautification efforts and the construction of new enclosures. An area for rain dance activities will be introduced near the waterfall area. Approximately 30% of the area near the waterfall will be expanded to increase both the height and length of the waterfall and the pond area. Additionally, more varieties of water lilies will be planted to enhance the beauty of the area.
