Thane: State transport minister Pratap Sarnaik on Friday identified and announced a one-km stretch along Ghodbunder highway for executing the pilot project of the proposed Pod car project that was recently okayed by the MMRDA for Thane and Mira-Bhayender cities as an alternative last-mile connectivity to the upcoming metro routes. Sarnaik who reviewed the project along with other developmental works in his constituency said the Bhayanderpada metro station and Vihangs Hills circle stretch will see the pilot project that could possibly be operated in the next six months. —Manoj Badgeri
