Midnight mass, carol singing in Danapur, Khagaul churches mark Christmas eve | Patna News – Times of India



Patna: Hundreds of devotees gathered at old churches in Danapur cantonment and Khagaul on the outskirts of Patna, to celebrate the midnight mass on Christmas eve. Services at the Khagaul Baptist church and Catholic church in Phulwarisharif were followed by a community gathering where they exchanged warm wishes and sweets.
The 194 years old St. Luke church in Danapur cantonment was filled with the sound of prayers as believers from the Army families and local residents gathered to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. The church hosted a solemn yet joyful service, with the altar beautifully adorned in festive décor including candles, flowers and a nativity scene, said Rev Bipin Angomicha.
“Cakes and sweets were distributed among the visitors, who were reminded the power of love and importance of faith on this occasion. The message of hope into the New Year was a predominant among devotees in the morning mass on Wednesday,” he said.
Similarly, the historic Catholic church and Anglican church in Khagaul hosted an equally spectacular midnight mass. The church saw a diverse crowd from all walks of life coming together in unity. The service was marked by joyful carol singing, prayers and lighting of candles, said Rev Manoj .
“The Christmas celebration is not just about tradition, but also about sharing joy and love with each other. Besides, many people coming together to celebrate this occasion. For many, this Christmas eve was not only a time of religious reflection, but also a chance to reconnect with family, friends, and neighbours,” Dipak Simon said.
