Met: No rain in sight for four days in state

Patna: There’s no rain in sight for next three to four days, owing to weakening of monsoon in the state. This comes as a bad news in the ongoing paddy season. Patna Met office said that there won’t be relief from hot and humid weather conditions at least for five days.
The day’s highest temperature was recorded in the capital at 35.7°C. “Gradual fall in maximum temperatures in the region can be witnessed only after three days,” said the weather bulletin.
The weather condition in the capital city is also unlikely to improve because dry weather has been predicted for a few days.Showers at one or two places are expected in the next couple of days, said the Patna meteorological office. The state is already witnessing rain deficit owing to below normal rainfall till date.
“Yellow alert for heavy rain in West Champaran and orange alert for three districts, including Kaimur, Rohtas and Aurangabad in south-western part of the state has been issued for June 23,” said the weather office forecast. Barring four districts, no place in state is expected to receive rain in the next four to five days, as per weather office report for this week.
Maximum temperature of 38.3°C was registered in Gopalganj and lowest of 26°C was recorded in Valmiki Nagar in West Champaran on Saturday. Patna’s maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 35.7°C and 30.4°C respectively on the day.
