15 SUVs gutted in fire at Danapur service centre

Patna: As many as 15 vehicles were damaged in a massive fire that broke out in a car service centre at Saguna Mor on Danapur- Khagaul Road in Patna on Thursday morning. However, no causality was reported.
A thick smoke started billowing from the showroom in the morning, following which locals informed the police and the fire department. The flames soon engulfed eight SUVs parked outside the showroom and other vehicles inside the building.
According to the fire officials, firefighters rushed to the spot within 10-15 minutes after getting information and took more than 2 hours to douse the flames.
Fire department DIG Mrityunjay Kumar Choudhary said they received information about the fire around 8am.
“We soon dispatched 10-12 teams of firefighters to the spot. Altogether 25 fire tenders were pressed into the service and the blaze was extinguished. However, no causality took place. The actual cause behind the fire could not be ascertained yet,” he said, adding that prima facie, it appears that short-circuit could be the reason behind the fire.
