Sambalpur: Personnel of Govt Railway Police (GRP) recovered a man’s body from a toilet on the Nagabali Superfast Express at Sambalpur Junction station on Monday. The body was discovered by sweepers who were cleaning the train in the morning.
The train arrived from Hyderabad on Sunday evening and went for cleaning the next morning. A group of sweepers tried to open the toilet to clean it; however, it was locked from inside. When they peered through the window, they found a man lying inside. They informed GRP officers, who cut the toilet door and found the man dead.
The man, identified as Prasad Bag (38) from Badarama area of Sambalpur district, was a labourer in Secunderabad.
Soudamini Nag, Sambalpur GRP inspector, said, “It is suspected that the man suffered a heart attack, as there are no external injuries on his body. We had to cut the door to open the toilet. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Exact cause of death would be ascertained after getting the autopsy report.”
