Man’s body found in septic tank, 1 detained | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: Body of a 55-year-old ragman was recovered from a septic tank of a dilapidated house in Gengutipali under Dhanupali police station limits in Sambalpur district on Monday. Police have detained a man in this connection.
The deceased, identified as Sheikh Hussain from Motijharan, used to collect scrap materials from households and sell it to a man named Subham Dhusar, the suspect who has been detained.
He was missing since Sunday evening. His family was searching for him the entire day and saw his cart where he carries scraps near a dilapidated house in the night. They lodged a complaint at Dhanupali police station on Sunday night.
On Monday, around 10am locals discovered a body dumped in the septic tank which is around 2km away from his house. The deceased had head injuries. Police suspect he was murdered and then dumped at the septic tank.
Hussain’s nephew, Sk Aspak, lodged a murder complaint on Monday.
Additional SP Sambalpur Ajay Kumar Mishra said, “The body was recovered with the help of fire staff. One person to whom the deceased was selling scrapes has been detained. Locals saw the two of them together on Sunday. We have seized the body and sent it for a post-mortem. We are interrogating the suspect to find out more details. Further probe is on.”
