Kendrapada: A 26-year-old man suffered serious injuries on his legs when three unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on him at Balisahi village in Kendrapada district on Sunday. The attackers managed to flee. Gautam Mallick of Bharigola was first admitted in the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and hospital, Cuttack, as his condition was serious. Police suspect the involvement of sand mafia as the injured man works in a sand quarry.TNN
