Man stabs wife todeath in Jamui | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A man allegedly stabbed his wife to death in broad daylight in Jamui district on Saturday morning. The horrific crime took place in front of numerous witnesses, leaving everyone in a state of shock and disbelief.
According to police, the victim, identified as 22-year-old Sonal Sinha, daughter of one Kishore Anand from the Kalyanpur locality under the Town police station in Jamui, had a love marriage with the accused, Kundan Ram, around three years ago.However, their relationship had been marred by frequent disputes, leading Sonal to live with her parents.
“On Saturday, Sonal was returning home with her sister after offering prayers at the Shiva temple in Maharajganj when Kundan attempted to snatch their two-year-old son from her. When Sonal refused to give up the child, Kundan, in a fit of rage, stabbed her multiple times. Sonal’s sister bravely intervened to protect her but also sustained injuries in the process,” Town SHO Kundan Kumar said, adding Sonal succumbed to her wounds on way to Patna Medical College Hospital.
Kumar said the forensic team visited the spot and collected samples to aid in the investigation. “The police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused, who fled after committing the crime,” he added.
According to a complaint filed by Sonal’s father, Kishore Anand, she had been subjected to frequent physical abuse by her husband over minor issues.
The situation had deteriorated to such an extent that she had been living at her paternal house for the past year, he alleged.
