Man shot dead in Saran over land dispute | Patna News – Times of India
Chhapra: A 23-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by one of his co-villagers while irrigating his crop field in Rajauli village under the Baniapur police station area in Saran district on Saturday.
The deceased, Sonu Kumar, son of one Arvind Singh, was shot in the chest. The alleged shooter, Rohit Pandey alias Dhuman, fled after committing the crime.
Sonu was rushed to Baniapur Referral Hospital, where he was declared dead.SHO of Baniapur police station, Ashutosh Kumar, said Sonu’s body was sent to a Chhapra hospital for postmortem.
Saran SP Kumar Ashish said a fired bullet was recovered from the spot. “Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting was related to a land dispute. A case has been registered against Rohit Pandey. Efforts are on to apprehend the suspect. A special police team has been constituted to investigate the case,” the SP added.
