Man shot at in Bihta village

Patna: Unidentified miscreants shot at one Sanjay Manjhi while he was asleep in the courtyard of his house at Mushepur village under Bihta police station area in Patna district in early hours of Monday. Hearing the gunshots, the family members rushed out and saw four attackers escaping on two motorcycles. Sanjay was first taken to ESIC Hospital, Bihta for primary treatment. Later, he was shifted to the PMCH, where doctors described his condition as critical.Local police arrived at the village to conduct a probe into the incident. The motive behind injuring Sanjay remains unclear, and police officers are questioning his family members. Sanjay’s wife has identified some villagers as suspects, and police are conducting searches to apprehend them.SHO, Bihta police station, Rajkumar Pandey, said the police received information about the incident at 1am. “The miscreants opened fire while Sanjay was sleeping outside his house. Four motorcycle-borne miscreants reached outside his residence and fired two bullets from close range. Two bullet injuries hit his head and he is currently undergoing treatment at the PMCH,” he said.Police have registered a case based on the statement of Sanjay’s wife. The FSL team has arrived at the village to conduct an investigation and collect evidence from the crime spot.
